Stressed

I'm beginning to have so many things on my plate, it's getting ridiculous. I was in Boulder this weekend and was supposed to help the guys get a lot of things moved out of my apartment that I left there, but that didn't happen. I just need to make it through the next 2 weeks and then I'll be free.... until classes at CU-Boulder start back up. I need to figure out when I'm moving back. My departure has been so tossed around that I honestly have NO clue when I get to leave. I'm ready to go back..
I keep meaning to draw one thing for each sketch then when I start drawing it looks like something else. I definitely tend to wing it on my sketches. .. And then I found $5.

OMG

The days are winding down of this class (and summer) and not that I've been feeling stressed this entire summer session, but I'm beginning to feel even more overwhelmed. Even when I stay after class for as long as I can handle and before class on Tuesday mornings, it seems like I don't get very much done. I love this class, I'm just suuuuuper overwhelmed.
I'm going to Boulder this weekend to move my stuff from my old apartment into a storage unit until I move back in August since the lease ends August 3 when I'll be taking finals here. UGH. Nothing like a "break" to do even more work.
But here's a sketch. I messed up the footprints walking into the puddle and away from the puddle. I got too carried away trying to draw a somewhat accurate shoe instead of perspective. woops. The mini project I started at the very beginning of this class is below. At first it was just the one wall with the different colors along with the flower. Since I learned how to use perspective on Illustrator from my Clockwork Orange project I decided to make a room out of it. I tried to make it look like a few of the rectangles were popping out away from the wall. Nothing crazy.
Well, that's about it for now. I finally remembered to do my homework! Yay.

I'm Alive... I PROMISE!!

Gosh, I have been at the closest point there is to failure this past week due to the worst migraine I've ever had. According to my sketches it all started here...

Over the course of the weekend I was up and down with the migraines and headaches and by July 4th I was feeling so much better!!! Well, July 5th comes around and the migraine is back. It literally felt like a lightning bolt was stabbing me in the top of the head.

On Monday I tried to go to class because it seems with this class especially, I need to be there every single day otherwise I will get super far behind. Well, I was miserable and the whole time was debating whether or not to get up and go in the middle of the lecture or wait it out and leave once open lab started. I decided to wait til open lab and as soon as it started I headed out and went straight to convenient care where they gave me a shot of some extreme tylenol, a prescription for muscle relaxers, and instructions to go straight home and sleep. That's just what I did. The next morning I woke up and didn't feel any better but luckily had made an appointment with my primary doctor for the next morning. I went in and she did an analysis and sent me home with Midrin, which put me out for a few days.. which is why I wasn't in class the rest of the week. Looking at these sketches I drew on this medicine, you're able to see I was a little out of my mind...

Well anyways, this morning I was feeling better for the most part and earlier this evening took a walk to the pond by myself to look for a little inspiration other than migraines to sketch with. At first I was trying to hide the "JULY" in the willow tree branches but that didn't work out so I made it darker and drew a small version of what was in front of me. What I just discovered is that all lily pads have a slice in them.. THEY ALL LOOK LIKE PAC MAN! hah.. interesting...

Too much blogging for one week. Ahh. I also need to post my sketches for project 2 to get some feedback. I'm making cookies first hough. Nom nom...

ahhhhhh

I couldn't do my homework assignment because Angel isn't working right. Almost forgot to upload my sketches from the week. I've been drawing a lot lately (especially this weekend) because I was traveling and hanging out with not a whole lot to do in Huntsville, AL for a family reunion. But here's a few of my sketches..
This one was a take off of the flower I drew previously. We were reading about chaos and focal points and I decided to try and attempt to draw some chaos with that flower. As random as the objects in it seem to be, they all somehow fit together once I was done with it. Weird, huh?

The two swirly looking ones I had a lot of fun drawing. Nothing really has to be said about why I drew them. I've been enjoying drawing swirly, rounded drawings lately and that's what I came up with. The top one of these two is what I drew first and I came back to it a few days later and decided I wanted to attempt to make it bigger so I began copying it which didn't work out very well, but the design still looked cool I thought.

This is an attempt to draw the inside view of the hotel I stayed at in Huntsville this weekend. It was a HUGE beautiful hotel that was overbooked due to a college reunion of a nationwide sorority chapter and another high school reunion (I think), and my family's reunion. Although a few of us had to move to a separate hotel, we all had a great time.

The ducks were born!

More sketches and stuff to come later.

A Friend..

has this as her default picture on Facebook and I thought it was much different than anything else I've ever seen. It shows a lot of depth and there is a very small variety of colors in it, making it very calm (as busy as the design is as a whole). Hmm.. If you turn the photo 90 degrees to the right, the audience turns into a skeleton and the lady looks like a pirate head...picasso style. I discovered this when I set this picture as my phone's background sideways so it would show up bigger and wahh..laa.. skeleton-pirate man!
I've been trying to work on my GDS proofs so I can have a good start on what to show the group tomorrow in class. It's taking a lot longer than I thought it would.. Maybe because I've been sketching and eating quesadillas. I have one proof done, except there's a few things I can't remember how to do. I'll get the help in class tomorrow.

Anyways, here's a sketch book entry from yesterday..
I'm excited to see the little ones when they hatch. It's always really exciting and I can watch them swim around our pond for hours.

Here's today's sketch. It feels good to be able to draw and know I'll have people looking at my art (if that's what you wanna call it) .. :)

midnight boredom does this to me.

This picture was taken at Keystone Mountain in Colorado near the end of the season. I miss Colorado. I was just playing with photoshop which is why the background's all crazy.

I'm having issues getting this sketch to be more larger (and more readable). I tried the image size to be 400 pixels, 800 pixels, 1200 pixels and now 900 pixels with the resolution of 72 pixels/inch.. somehow I end up with pretty much the same result. Anyone have suggestions? Did I maybe forget a step in publishing my sketch?

Anyways, I'll rewrite it here so you can read it easier. On June 17, 2009 I wrote,
"I often find myself daydreaming in any situation. Being at the start of summer classes is a big challenge. I need to retrain myself to pay attention for long periods of time [once again]. Not to mention these summer classes are 2 1/2 hours when my classes at CU-Boulder are between 50 and 75 minutes... Pretty big time difference.
......Back to dreamland for now. Goodbye...."

Well, if you have suggestions let me know. Hopefully I'll do better at keeping up with this blog after this first week. I've been drawing some decent sketches for my low skill level that I'd like to publish here. I also intend to begin publishing some photos I take for my Digital Photography class.

See you all on Monday. Have a good weekend =]
